Fashion Forward Friday

Friday 22 October 2010
"And the sister of the birthday girl wore this."

This weekend is Little Sisters 21st- bless. Her being the quintessential little fashion princess, her theme is Black Shimmer. Told you, a fabulous little sister. So the obvious cut of cloth would be a LBD.

A little black dress is an evening or cocktail dress, cut simply and often quite short. Fashion historians describe the origins of the little black dress to the 1920s designs of Coco Chanel (of course!) to be long-lasting, versatile, affordable, accessible to the widest market possible and in a neutral colour. It is often simply referred to as the "LBD”.

The LBD is considered essential to a complete wardrobe by many women and fashion observers, who believe it a rule of fashion that every woman should own a simple, elegant black dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

So this is what I am wearing. Slinky one shoulder LBD, black chandelier earrings, killer sexy heels, a shimmery mirror bangle, smoky dramatic eyes and red lip for for an accent of colour. I haven't decided on the hair but I'm thinking old Hollywood romantic.
  1. Dress, Phenomenon at YDE, R300.
  2. Earring, Cameroon, R140.
  3. Bangle, Accessorize, R80.
  4. Shoes, Rage, R265 (how beautiful.... Oooow).
