Weekend Learning's

Tuesday, 22 March 2011
Krr krrrr! Black and White... I love you.
This weekend was the first long weekend I have spent at home in Jozi in almost 2 years. I have to be honest... I got a lot done. Fun.
And these are the weekend learning’s:

  • Irish Car Bombs are the most revolting shooter I have ever had, face pulling stuff!
  • Getting ready for a night out with a girlfriend reminds me of my teenage years. Kinda cool.
  • Buddah Ta is still a gorgeous venue and I have heard the food is just as amazing at the décor, *note to Coco, must try this out!
  • Everyone should have a night out of just crazy dancing. If you cannot dance that’s fine too, just don’t jump on the stage... lady in purple I am talking to you!
  • Running in the rain is fine by me, lets go play in it!
  • There is only one thing to do when the weather is crappy... go out and buy ingredients and make Bloody Mary’s, you know it little tomato!
  • I still love Espresso’s (the place *4th street in Parkhurst and the drink.)
  • Sometimes the rain can break, or in our case, make a party.
  • I love sunglasses with unique details, fellow blogger Megan has stunning dragonfly sunnies from Really Really. *Fridays Fashion will be on Sunnies, thanks Meg!
  • The Kings Speech is a brilliant film, I am still and always will be, a huge fan of Helena Bonham Carter, even when she plays a safer role like the queen.
  • Willoughby & Co’s prawn rice paper wrap is... to die for to put it mildly.
  • I love ‘The Go! Team’sApollo Throwdown (Star Slinger Remix) play it for me baby!
  • I desperately want to go for an advanced driving course. Got to channel this need for speed into something.
  • Do the tiger dance for me!
  • I miss you Lomo... tbc

PS. “Coco you’re a little different...” “Well you’re just like everyone else...” Coco walks away in boredom.

Fashion Friday

Friday, 18 March 2011
Oh M gee, my legs look like stalks...
I have to be honest. I am not a fan of floral. Its too girly and I look silly in girly. It also reminds me of Granny curtains... And moth balls... Awkward silence.

But there is something so fab about floral skirts. Short, little, colour-crazy, high-waisted, picturesque leg canvases! I know it was a 2010 trend but I have only recently seen them out and about in the last couple of weeks, and in a big way. Why do I like them? Maybe it is because summer is almost over and I am clutching at straws... Or at floral skits... To try and keep my last shreds of summer alive and to not give in to the already woollen catastrophes and winter wonders in the shops. Boo.

But really they are actually super cute and pairing them with a vest or a tank and a belt and a nice bag... Bla bla CUTE! Gonna go get Coco one.

Happy Friday my lovelies. Long weekend in South Africa, enjoy it! My first long weekend at home is ages... I cannot wait!!!

PS. I’m the skateboarder, life is my skateboard.

I love these Save Japan posters.

A number of charities are accepting donations and help for the victims of Japan quake-tsunami disaster. However it's important to exercise due diligence before making a donation to any organisation.

Weekend Learning's

Tuesday, 15 March 2011
Another beautiful blissful weekend. Thank you to all, this is what I learned,
  • The Westcliff has yummy beef skewers and the best view of Jozi.
  • Getting a potjie pot for a gift for a Kitchen Tea is a unique and very well received gift. I win!
  • Autumn is on its way. Its getting cooler in the evenings, although that is very possible after a 33 degree day.
  • I love watching the leaves dance and swirl from the speed of my car in my rear-view mirror.
  • Splinters are still as sore now as they were when I was 5.
  • I desperately need a new pair of black pumps.
  • Do not ever leave a wine bottle unattended when there are thirsty Tannies around.
  • Watching people jump in the pool at a house party is still fun, although I always get stared someone is going to chuck the little blonde person in!
  • I still want my all white, white, white house and cannot wait to meet her.
  • I'd rather look back at my life and say, "I can't believe I did that!" instead of saying, "I wish I did that.."

Weekend Learning's

Wednesday, 9 March 2011
Friends, tyres, noodles and Dale, yummy! Tee hee!
So sorry this weekend learning’s is so late! Due to a slashed tyre I’ve had a little trouble getting free time to blog. Long story! This is what I learned:
  • A Friday with an old movie and a noodle cup is the perfect Friday. I guess that would call me a cheap date. Noodle cup, YUM!
  • My friends GPS has serious directional problems “carry on through parking lot for 200 meters then turn left round dodgy corner to destination” fail.
  • Seeing people I have known for over 10 years and not having a clue who they are is a scary and sad thing.
  • A normally frowned upon party with new friends in a tight group is better than any average party, cannot wait for round 2.
  • I hate the smell of fake tan, especially on weird sweaty people, EWW!
  • Seeing billboards with incorrect logo’s freaks me out, come on advertising people, ever heard of BRAND led communications?
  • Pampering Sunday is even better when there is cricket to watch, they go hand-in-hand.
  • I really have little respect for people who only support their sports team when they win. A real supporter will back their team, win or lose! Go Protea’s!
  • I really, like REALLY love Dale Steyn’s air punch.... And his tat... Mmm.
  • Some people are so pathetic I want to slap the stupid out of them.
  • When I get cold I want to go home.
Have a beautiful week, we’re already half way there!

Xoxo

PS. Hoping a slashed tyre is gang related and not stalker related...

Fly Friday

Friday, 4 March 2011
Come fly with me!
Fashion Friday will just have to be a quote day today. Much work and little free time makes Coco a sad panda!

I never wanted to weigh more heavily on a man than a bird.” - Coco Chanel

Happy Friday! Hope its a beauty of a weekend! Much to do, much to do!

PS. Hot in Jozi, love in the city!

Weekend Learning's

Coco taking Jozi by storm... haha!
What a weekend. I am seriously challenging the ‘work hard, play hard’ theme. These are the weekend learning's!
  • Higher Ground has the yummiest bacon and haloumi salad. I doubt its healthy at all but who cares.
  • Four girls in stilettos jump-starting a car is something of a spectacle. Yes there were some hanging jaws. Haha!
  • Patron-on-feet is a sad thing. Especially when its most of the bottle! Pourer fail. Glass in foot is also a foot fail.
  • I hate drama, please take it somewhere else.
  • Short red nails is always sexy. Varnish of choice is Essie’s Rose Bowl, a passionate red! :P
  • Being a VIP at the golf is the only way to go.
  • No matter how old I get, I still love sitting in the car with my girlfriends playing music. Bop-bop!
  • Little girls shouldn’t be playing in a womans world! You’re out of your league honey.
  • It still shocks me when I meet someone crazier than me... Fathering a pile of coins and rapping them in a lemon blankie is nuts! Nice to meet you!
  • The Office in Greenside is  so lovely, I am never disappointed.
  • I love my friends.
Xoxo

PS. Someone told me my theme song should be “A Girl Like You” by Edwyn Collins. I agree... For this week at least.
