Two brush strokes. Totally different? Yes!
They have the exact same paints, the exact same brush was used,
they are totally complimentary, but still totally unique and different.
Together on one canvas they are a composition of unity.
Art, yes. Perfection, definitely.

Last weekend of February. Oh no. Cannot really say I will miss February. It was not such a fantastic month. It's been tough, I feel tired. But I am positive, I am bright, and I am looking forward to the week, the weekend, the month, to March and my life. This is what I learned;

  • This year, it is going FAST. Woooooosh!
  • If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.
  • I have to say I was quite overworked last week and it showed. You know you are tired when you fall asleep on your couch before dinner and a girl screaming in Pretty Little Liar on your laptop wakes you. Awkward.
  • “Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion.”Simon Sinek
  • Friday Shabbas was delicious. It is quite lovely how I really look forward to it, I just love family time to be honest! I especially love Shabbas when it is at my boyfriends Mum's house because I love the food. Om nom nommm…
  • “I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.” Audrey Hepburn.
  • The first person you should trust is yourself. I really should start listening to my body, to what I am feeling, and to my inner voice, she speaks a lot of nonsense sometimes, but she also speaks a lot of truth.
  • I love the roulade at Nice in Parkhurst it is so morish. Oh my goodness, mascarpone cheese and strawberry filling with a touch of rosewater? Yes! It is so tasty it almost distracted me with every mouthful from the delicious gossip I was discussing with my dear friend Debbie. And I think she felt the same about her Nice cheesecake. Tasty much?
  • I can shamefully say I love the Bachelorette. I look SO forward to watching it on the weekend. Ya, ya, ya its a bunch of hollywood romantic hogwash. But there are small moments of romance and escapism that are just too funny and too cute. It might be hollywood but they time those fireworks perfectly! And y'all know this Coco is a cheesy romantic lover-lover!
  • “I will kiss your scars as you heal, I will sit by your side and hold your hand. I will write invisible secrets and paragraphs and maybe a book into your skin at night, while you sleep warm next to me.” - Unknown.
  • I highly recommend the "Find my iPhone" App. Goodness people!!! So I left my phone in my friends car on Saturday night. Using my iCloud and that App I found it, in her car, the next day. Was the scariest thing. What a great app! BEST! And grateful!
  • “Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world.”Miyamoto Musashi

Have a productive week my darlings I have a long weekend with Design Indaba, cannot wait! Getting inspired already!

xoxo

PS. “You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.” - Winston Churchill.

Appreciate, always.
I'm lucky In that I have this with my special one ^_^
But I think sometimes we and others forget how lucky they are.

Ernest HemingwayThe Garden of Eden.

I've had one or two good Valentines Day's. But most of them have been merdé, you can look that up, its romantic and French for 'poo'. Having Valentines at the office is always weird. We have to do strange work posts about stuff we like and we get roses or cupcakes and I have to do some social media stuff which takes away from my real work but forces me to watch all the crappy love flowing on Facebook etc… it puts a weird mood on my Friday, and weekend. I'm not saying its bad, just odd. I think it is more evident when you are out and about on V-day. You're surrounded by couples. Some new, some old. But each one has a mystery I would love to know. Each ones face tells a story that sometimes, the other person at the table can't read, but I can. Sometimes you see two people smiling at each other and when one looks away, the others smile is wiped clean, there isn't even a stain of happiness left there, not even a lingering light in their eyes. Valentines, can't we all just be honest? It's an interesting day. This is what I learned;

  • Valentines Day couples are the scariest couples. Brrr! Shivvers!
  • However… The best foreplay starts with "Good morning beautiful." giggle!
  • “Our Generation has had no Great war, no Great Depression. Our war is spiritual. Our depression is our lives.” Chuck Palahniuk
  • I like tempura sushi so much that I actually search for it on the menu first before I look for anything else. If its vegetarian tempura Californian rolls (a rare delicious morsel) I will pay for your dinner.
  • “Continue to love. Continue to forgive. Continue to grow.” - Chelsea Ayers
  • I truly believe I am about to grow the best tomatoes simply because they are so cute and pretty those little tiny sprouts! But because I love them. Yes, I love those plants.
  • "People are prettiest when they talk about something they really love with passion in their eyes." - K.v.h. I am quite enchanted by people with drive, passion and a lust for their career. Yes I guess you could say it turns me on. Prrrr, ambition… wink!
  • "A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions." Show me your elastic band you beautiful thing!

This was a little bit of an odd learning's I know, a little fluffy, a lot of inspiration but there is just so much to do on the horizon, who can't help but feel inspired and lucky to be alive? One of my heroine's Stevie Nicks knows what I am blabbing on about;

“If you can find a passion at a young age, somewhere between fifteen and thirty, if you can find that passion, I can pretty much guarantee you that you can be sixty-five and still love that passion and still have a reason to dance out of bed and down the hall every morning.” Stevie Nicks. Hope you dance all week long my little disco queens and kings!

All my love...

Xoxo

PS. You don't have to give her the whole entire world to make her happy, just make her happy by sincerely giving her "You".

Honeycomb heart.

Wow. Is all I can say. Talk about making up for lost time! I crammed my weekend full of party. Too fun. This is what I learned;

  • "Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will." - Karim Seddiki. You really should stop doubting, and start believing!
  • Healthy is the new black. I like it.
  • Love what you love without hesitation , you never know when it might be taken from you.
  • Bumping into some people I went to Zim with was really funny. When you're standing in a pathway and neither of you can remember each others names and you're going "HELLO!", "OH MY GOSH!" and "ITS YOU!". The excitement is the best part and you walk away smiling and joyful. It is those little moments that warm my heart. Great memories!
  • "Save yourself little girl, stop waiting for someone to come and rescue you, you are on your own." - Josephin August. I forgot, I reminded myself.
  • Pamper Saturday mornings are the best, mani, pedi, hair and a massage. Nothing like spoiling myself after a ridiculous work week. Purr I say.
  • There is something to be said for the electricity in the air in town at these Jozi outdoor events we go to. It can't be explained, only felt. This is Africa, Africa is the future after all.
  • Boyfriend jeans… I wasn't convinced of this look till I tried on a pair. Obsessed and in love! Sexy slouch is my new favourite jean *wink.
  • “But to come home each night. Have a drink, go to bed, and be so deeply understood by you. Would be the greatest gift of my life.”Clementine von Radics, A Prayer.
  • I really love the coffee at 4th Avenue Coffee Roastery in Parkhurst. It is just divine! And they always put a heart in my cappuccino foam and the tiny shortbread biscuits they serve with their cappuccino's have cinnamon in them… the little things…
  • Sometimes, talking to your best friend is all the therapy you really need. Yip.
  • "The older you get, the more you realize that it isn't about the material thing, or the pride or ego. It's about our hearts and who they beat for." - R.A.

Have a beautiful week fluffy hearts, I hope you all get spoilt on Valentines. “Someone asked me what home was and all I could think of were the stars on the tip of your tongue, the flowers sprouting from your mouth, the roots entwined in the gaps between your fingers, the ocean echoing inside of your ribcage.”E.E. Cummings

PS. “hell is loving you in my sleep and waking up alone.”

Even in French, February looks and sounds romantic.

Hello February. The month of love, or so they say. I had a productive weekend. And I am going to admit I have quite the girl crush on Mother Nature and her moody storms. They are so seductive and euphoric, I just can't get enough. This is what I learned;

  • A Friday night in with the boyfriend all to myself is as rare as a unicorn and equally as special and beautiful.
  • “Scare the world: Be exactly who you say you are and tell the truth.”The Shock of Honesty
  • I am loving the Nike+ run app. It is well designed and user friendly but it also challenges and encourages you to get out there and make footprints and to share your experiences. Try it out, you'll see what I mean.
  • “And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.”Iain S Thomas. I've come to the realization that it is okay to miss some things in life for creating more unique things is way more interesting. Saturday was filled with unique experiences which I will cherish.
  • “I’m not asking you to love me perfectly but to love me graciously.”Ramses Prashad
  • I can't begin to explain how exciting it is to have all (well about half to be precise) my family in one place at one time. Sunday was my lovely Aunt Heathers Birthday. She flew out from New York with new Hubby, Uncle Jon, to celebrate in SA with the Jozi crowd. My heart was filled to the brim with gushy love… and my tum was filled with yummy food! Family, it is the best part of every part.
  • “Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.” - Unknown
  • I am growing my own tomatoes from scratch. Yes I am! I bought a kit the other day, I played in the mud, got really dirty and so begins my new little garden. The best part was milling about the house after my planting then walking past the mirror just to catch a glimpse of myself and discovering I had mud on my cheek and forehead! No wonder the caterer left in a hurry…
  • Did you know the chilling shiver you experience with a strong emotion has a name? It is called "frisson".

Have a lovely first week of February my squishy hearts! Hope you are planning your Valentines cards.

Xoxo

PS. Do not read the next sentence. You little rebel. I like you!

This, this is too true.
