Mow Sounds

Snuggle sounds I bet...
I am still on the search for awesome and unique headphones. I stumbled upon these. SO Meow!

Tiger Ears Cozy Knit Headphones. These headphones are a triple threat: they keep your ears warm, fill your head with bops, and make you look like a mighty jungle predator... Or just a sassy little designer with kittyphones on. Knit fabric is soft and comfortable, and at the end of the cable is a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

Get some for me now! Or just get some for yourself {here}

Xoxo

PS. Yea I hear you purring.

Cat got your tongue... yes.

Weekend Learning's

Tuesday, 27 September 2011
I like... don't fight it.
Weekend learning’s on a Tuesday... Almost did not make it. Here is what I learned;

I love getting flowers. White lily’s are amazing because they bloom slowly, they are beautiful. Thank you.
Office braai’s are great especially on the roof watching the Jozi sunset with wine in hand, love.
All of a sudden desperately miss my long, luscious blonde hair... Watch this space. (thank god it grows like a weed)
Str.crd was awesome. Serious love for the smell of spray paint and a serious love for tasty skateboarders... Hello there.
The Patisserie's apple cake is so delicious it actually pains me when I eat the last crumb.
I like the word crumb.
Joburg has a wonderful sweet blossom smell this time of year. Its warm and comforting and makes me happy.
I miss my old friends and will not cut them out anymore. I will be there for you when you need me no matter what.
I like zombie stuff, I don’t know why and I know its weird but I just love it.
Good Food and Wine Show was amazing! Gordon Ramsay is actually handsome... Or maybe its the Spring Bok jersey he was sporting.
Men seem to wear a lot of pink these days... Not so keen on that.
If you tickle me, I’m not responsible for your injuries.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Have a great week shoelaces!

PS. Dress like a cupcake should feel.

Spring Fling

Friday, 23 September 2011
I like you Spring, I really like you.
It’s spring time in Jozi. Kind of feels more like summer. But there are a couple things that I’m finding around that are great spring items.

My Aldo Trules. Wedges perfect for smart summery lunches. They’re cool yet casual, and a little person like me can always use some height.
My Cellini Coral bag. She’s almost pink. She reminds me of sea coral, blue water and white beaches. And its called a Cruze, kiff, haha.
Calvin Klein Euphoria. Sweet and flowery this summer scent is perfect for day or night. Its great because its not too sweet so it doesn’t attract bees!
Trinket brooches. What could be sweeter than wearing an apple in spring!
Little Dragon. Swedish electronic band with lyrics and tunes which blow my days away, sweet sweet bop music.
Reading my book in the sun. This doesn’t need a description.
Stripey stuff. I like to be a little sailor in summer...
Heritage day, national braai day the smell of a braai... Mmm summer. Chop please.

Happy weekend feathers!

You shake my world from my ground to my head.” - Little Dragon

Weekend learning's

Tuesday, 20 September 2011
Beautiful creatives, a happy weekend on the dance floors in Cape Town.
This weekend I went to the Loerie awards in Cape Town. Interbrand Sampson was nominated for two of the jobs I did. No, I did not win, but I won in other ways. I learnt you do not have to win an award to win in life. Losers justification perhaps, but an award wouldn’t have made it that much better. This is what I learned.
  • My Cellini bag (new) fits a lot more in it than previously thought.
  • The people I hang out with in a working environment are just as nuts as me. We spent a good 30 minutes discussing the colour of my bag *being Coral, and how it would taste. Wrapping it in plastic added another dimension to the flavour. (like I said; nuts)
  • I am not really into the whole bus shuttle thing. Taxi’s are the way to go.
  • The apartments at Cape Quarter are to die for! Thanks guys for letting me have the VIP room ;)
  • I have people in my life who I am so close with, it is only natural to call them family. In fact, sometimes ‘sister’ is even a lesser friendship than what we have. Two peas in a pod.
  • I love old school lifts with big buttons and a trelly door you have to manually close before they move, I want one in my house. Vintage awesome!
  • Shocking news just reminds me how much I love my family, death can be cruel in her timing.
  • Some people will do anything to get into the circle, even doing things morally wrong. I do not like these people.
  • When the weather is bad there is nothing better than a blankie, a strange reality omnibus and a packet of Big Corn Bites with a wonderful friend.
  • Only David Hasselhoff could pull off strangely thin legs and sequin jacket ensemble. And I still like the Baywatch theme song.
  • Meeting a little work community where the people are cool and friendly reminds me of my old job. I miss that office family... This will change things.
  • I still hate dancing in a circle but for a birthday ill whip it!
  • Saying goodbye to a city I love gets harder and harder.
  • Lost luggage really is painful. Can you not use the words “misplaced” and “if we find your bag”. Panic attack stuff!
  • The people who want to stay in your life will always find a way.
  • Loeies and Cape Town, till we meet again...

PS. Mamihlapinatapai- refers to "a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other will offer something that they both desire but are unwilling to do."

I am a pea without a pod in the dust bowl.

Inkling Be Mine

Thursday, 8 September 2011
Go {here} to see the website... cutesy logo too.
If you love me you will buy me this! Haha! If you draw a lot this is the most awesome invention. So many people I know want ipads or Kindles or mountain bikes or a new dress. I want this! Geek alert!

A lot of designers actually cannot draw. What is the point of being a designer if you can’t do it on paper? When I started studying they wouldn’t let us do anything on machines. We first had to learn how to design on paper. Those of us who could draw excelled, the rest... Well lets just say many are doing layouts for furniture companies.

Wacom has introduced the Inkling. A digital sketch pen which makes my knees go weak! The website reads as follows;

“The Inkling digital sketch pen captures a digital likeness of your work while you sketch with its ballpoint tip on any sketchbook or standard piece of paper. Designed for rough concepting and creative brainstorming, Inkling is ideal for the front end of the creative process. Later, refine your work on your computer using an Intuos4 tablet or Cintiq interactive pen display.

In addition to capturing your sketch, stroke by stroke, Inkling allows you to create layers in digital files while you sketch on paper. Digital files are transferred to your computer using the Inkling Sketch Manager software, and later, exported to applications such as Adobe® Photoshop® and Illustrator®. Files can also be opened with the included Inkling Sketch Manager software to edit, delete, add layers or change file formats.”

The excuse to get myself a ‘just because’ gift just came to fruition.

PS. Every artist was first an amateur. (yes I did want to spell it like that)

Wow it so awesome... I am such a nerd.
This will be me... doodle queen.

What I ♡ this week...

Wednesday, 7 September 2011
Put GPS in boot till its time to go home.
 Sorry, didn’t make the Weekend Learning’s deadline. So I decided to do a love post. Discovering so many cool things around me deserves to be shared. Exciting! Here are some things I’m delving into this week;
  • Shoes with flowers on them.
  • Doing things myself in order to save money for my big shiny life.
  • The above point includes doing my own Spring French Manicure in Essie’s white Marshmallow and pink Guchi Muchi Puchi. Its subtler than normal mani’s.
  • Local jeweller Trinket and their stunning little modern brooches. Great little designs and animals. I got me a Squirrel!
  • New bedding. I am not sure what it is but it just refreshes the entire room. Kind of like ‘a new coat of paint’ I guess.
  • The Gautrain bringing Pretoria to my doorstep. It really is just a hop on a train ride away.
  • Learning not to trust anyone. This might seem like a negative point, its not. I have an amazing group of people in my life. Its like clockwork how few of the new people you can trust... Maybe that’s why you have no friends.
  • I cannot WAIT for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy to come out. Finally a movie worth watching! Note to self, must reread the book.
  • Road trips. I want to drive somewhere I’ve never been before. Soon soon my little Mercedes.
  • I miss Franschoek. I think ill just drive there. Hash tag favourite place in the world.
  • Rugby World Cup. Yay for Rugby! Yay for all the Braai’s!
  • Running. It really is better than therapy.
Xoxo

PS. If your presence cant add value to my life, your absence will make no difference. Surprise.

Trinket's beautiful brooches. I know, you want one. {here}
