Cherry Pop

Can you tie a cherry stick in a knot?

I can! Well... if the stem is long enough and I have enough time and if no one watches me make those funny faces I can do it! I love it! The simple joys of being able to do something so frivolous!

One of my mum’s tricks (and yes there are many but this one is hugely impressive) is breaking and apple in half with her hands. She always used to do it for me and my sister when we were young! I still have not mastered the art but I still feel shocked and surprised every time she does it!

Every girl should know how to do one random thing... Just so you can say you can.
The other day while I was wasting time I found this. Its a step-by-step guide.
I haven’t been able to get my paws on some cherries to test this method but I thought id share it anyway!

Good Luck girls!

P.S. A tip: those maraschino cherries you get in your cocktails are hardier and are probably easier to manipulate!

“He’s Just Not That Into You”

• Genre: Comedy
• Director: Ken Kwapis
• Cast: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore

Although I may prefer a good thriller I just have to confess I’m a sucker for a good romantic comedy. It is definitely due to me growing into a fine young lady (*ahem!) that I now find myself constantly searching for the utter awesomeness of a soppy chick flick. The kind that makes you cry hysterically simply because when the main character finally lives happily ever after (as if we did not know it was going to happen) the sheer joy of knowing a sunny finale is out there always sends me rushing to my Kleenex. I’m a romantic! Going to bed smiling with hearts and smiles popping in my dream clouds is pure bliss.

Thus, I went on a chick flick night with three of my girlfriends. The movie of the night was “He’s Just Not That Into You”. It tells the stories of a group of interconnected, Baltimore-based twenty- and thirtysomethings as they navigate their various relationships from the shallow end of the dating pool through the deep, murky waters of married life, trying to read the signs of the opposite sex… and hoping to be the exceptions to the “no-exceptions” rule.

It’s a classic single-woman’s scenario: you really like him, but he’s not calling you back. You get desperate, go crazy, make up excuses for him. It cannot be you… can it?

It is based on a book written by Greg Behrendt, a former executive story editor for Sex and the City—and a formerly single (now happily married) guy who knows all the excuses. As Behrendt sensibly puts it, "if a (sane) guy really likes you, there ain’t nothing that’s going to get in his way." And that’s what this movie is all about.

Although the cast is stellar, in fact I don’t think one part is played by anyone mediocre…wait… nope. I really found it ordinary.
The basis of the movie was interesting. It follows numerous couples who experience all the typical relationship scenarios and how ‘He’s just not that into you’ is justified in every one.

It was scary as the script is loaded with truth. Most of the time I sat there thinking; “I don’t think men should be allowed to watch this, they’re all going to think we’re all crackers!” But luckily these truths made it rather hysterical!

The acting was great, the direction was snappy and the inserts of everyday people with their witty takes on how to date was hilarious!

It was good fun. And the constant “AAHHH!”s and “AWWWW!”s in the cinema justified that I was not the only one who enjoyed it.

My friends loved it! I highly recommend it!

P.S. Leave the boys at home, this one is ladies only!
