Weekend Learning's

I ated this... a summer - treat details below.

Should we talk about how great my weekend was? Right! It was fantastic! I’m just loving life these days. It is blissful, and it is summer, and next weekend… well this Cocobutton will be surfing the Cape Town shores! Mmm hmm. A whole month of holiday… So this is what I learned;

  • My favourite Essie shade for the Summer holiday? Tart Deco. It’s not too hot to be lumo but peachy enough to show off a tan. Perfect!
  • “Dear Ladies: you should never have to prove to other women that he’s in love with you. That’s his job.” - Charles J. Orlando
  • I’ve learned that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
  • I love hummus. That is all.
  • “I don’t want to be the other half of your soul. I want to be the one who reminds you that you’re already whole.” - G.S.
  • You’ve got a face with a view…
  • “The trouble with being a daydreamer who doesn’t say much is that the teachers at school, especially those who don’t know you very well, are likely to think you’re rather stupid. Or, if not stupid, then dull. No one can see the amazing things that are going on in your head.” - Ian McEwan, The Daydreamer. I feel like this explains a lot about me… this head of mine, its full of galaxies.
  • My sister is an amazing little chef. She pretends not to be, but the chicken, rosemary and mushroom lasagne she made the other night… good god girl… I’m glad I know you!
  • Sometimes a girls just got to to have an ice-cream cone… and why not? The Woolworths frozen yoghurt has the low calories I love and the summer shade of pink I’m crushing on this season… 10 points! Yum!

I hope you have a plush week full of petals and puppy kisses! See you on the beach!

xoxo

PS. You’re the type of person who makes forever seem too short.

Sigh, a good weekend. Kisses, love, feathers, a smitten kitten!

The weekends are getting colder and colder here in chilly Joburg. It is encouraging Coco to stay indoors because hopping around in the frost is just too much for my ears to take. I am not a fan of cold toes either. It is just all too uncomfortable! Summer return please! This is what I learned;
  • A little Friday lunch time shopping session is always a good idea.
  • Cotton On must have the best vintage skinny tracksuits ever! Go now, be warm squirrels!
  • "The thing about chaos, is that while it disturbs us, it too, forces our hearts to roar in a way we secretly find magnificent." - Christopher Poindexter. I cannot stop thinking this quote was written for every Leo who ever lived, chaos seekers with hearts which roar! Like.
  • I love a mani / pedi session with a pretty friend. And Essies Miss Fancy Pants is a grey similar to the dark Pantone warm grey this designer knows and loves. A great warm winter hue for both fingers and toes!
  • Sitting in the sun all day on a Saturday when there is going to be a cold front on Sunday… it's good.
  • I love it when new friends join Pinterest. Last week I was blessed to not have one, but TWO of my favourite fashionista's and general all round taste guru's join, Miss Charlotte and my sweet sister Queen Steph. The excitement is beyond! Make Coco proud girls! I am also on Pinterest, have a look at my boards {here}.
  • I love the concept of personalized jewellery  Especially this personalized little stackable ring and heart set {here} Too cute! Great gift idea for any occasion.
  • “I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self respect. And it’s these things I’d believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn’t all she should be. I love her and it is the beginning of everything.” - F Scott Fitzgerald
  • Feathers in your hair? Yes I am a fan! A friend of mine sells feathers on bands to tie around your head as a headband, too pretty! Next thing I need is a feather headdress, I always knew my childhood obsession with Pocahontas was more about her style than anything else… hmmm.
  • I often call Sunday my cheat day. I indulge in junk food and treats and yummies I try not to eat during the week. But being rather a healthy person, sometimes indulgence for me is a large piece of salmon, home cooked, with brown rice and quinoa, fresh lemon from the garden, in my pajama's in front of theTV with a Master Chef marathon… my how I've grown!

Cuddle your favorite thing to keep warm lovelies, keeping my boyfriend super close this week! Have a super week!

Xoxo

PS. When he kisses her, storms rise beneath her skin, for she is the sean, and he, is her moon.

... and for the rest of winter... and 2013... and my life...

Sea, sparkles and sculls. Sexy season!

The last weekend of November has come and gone and we're on the last stretch of 2012. Thank goodness. I do not know how much longer I can take. Exhaustion has set in. I cannot remember the last time a day went by when I did not feel tired. Sleep is all I want to do, preferably happily on my boyfriends chest my heavy eyelids could stay closed forever. This is what I learned;
  • Working with a camera crew in the office on a Friday is torturous, been there done that, I hate lights, cameras, no action please.
  • Kids these days, goodness, I really do feel old amongst the younger generation.
  • Rain. I can honestly say it is my sedative! The sound, smell, mood even temperature puts me straight to sleep. I know this because I literally kept falling asleep on Saturday.
  • Also when it rains I wish I could speak french… actually I always wish I could speak French. Merde!
  • Like petals we must eventually fall.
  • Mishmash serves beetroot and goats cheese spring rolls, SO yum! But why do people always think that beetroot needs a sweet accompaniment? I prefer salty.
  • Yes, there are plenty more fish in the sea, but you're my only Nemo. How long do clown fish live for? Forever I hope ^_^
  • Essie's red nail varnish in Too Too Hot has got to be the perfect summer red, in total lust over it.
  • The biggest mistake I have made in my life is letting people stay in my life far longer than they deserve.
  • My obsession with Jalapeño's has grown to the point where I was craving a jelepino-popper for breakfast on Saturday morning… odd ball, YUM!
  • It is nice to braid my hair, just one, for fun or two for you. Dependent on the weather I might even add a feather.
  • I really don't understand what this 80's come back of zippers in the front of your top is… ouch ladies really? No. and the crop top too, its called a bralette right? Ribs showing!? Why!? Cringe.
  • “If in dreams alone, I wrap my arms around you, lay me down to sleep.” Daily Haiku on love by Tyler knott Gregson.
  • I am the lucky one because you are the best thing that’s ever been mine.

Have a lovely week wind in the willows!

xoxo

PS. She acts like summer and walks like rain.

Ignite my bones love.

Coco, she is fierce.
I spent the weekend in Cape Town with one of my best and oldest friends. We ran around with a "go go go" attitude and as I normally do, this time 'we' made that city our bitch. This is what I learned.
  • It's hysterical when jealous Joburg people tell you how crap the weather is going to be and then you have perfect sunny days all weekend long, take that.
  • Staying at the Protea Fire and Ice is epic. Whats better than having a milkshake in their random bar? (which I have done many times before) having a milkshake and then retiring to your pimping room, sweet!
  • Darling, I would slap you but that would be animal abuse.
  • I am loving the blonde braid trend. I know it would look stunning on any hair colour but the blondes seem to be sporting it wherever I look. Definitely going to try this out for Spring.
  • The Pot Luck Club is everything it is made out to be. Unbelievable, delicious, divine and delectable. I would fly down to Cape Town every Friday just to eat there. Orgasmic!
  • "We are the silver lining in any and every dark cloud we could ever find. There is no need to go looking for the light when you bring it with you." Tyler Knott Gregson.
  • I can finally listen to Bon Iver without feeling the tears in my eyes and the pang of pain in my heart. It is amazing how one night listening to harmonious music that you adore with the person you love can totally distort and ruin the melodies. Remind Coco to never share her romantic stuff with people who never wanted to love her back in the first place? Mistake…
  • Building my little cottage has made me look out for the beauty id strange and unique décor, I am white loving pottery with sculls and old fading books. Must be the creamy macabre blonde I am my baby.
  • The Slug and Lettuce in Cape Town is so… feminine compared to the one in Jozi, come on Cape Town teapots in a pub? Odd.
  • I get home sick whenever I go away. It does not matter how amazing the holiday is, and it was amazing! It is simply because I miss the loves I leave at home. The amazing friends I have built these deep relationships with… one weekend without them and I miss them, and they miss me too.
  • Essie's hot pink in Watermelon is just deliciously spicy! Its warm enough to keep you going on the cool evenings in Jozi yet still fresh enough to say hello everyday to warm spring fling which is evidently here! Yay ladies!
Have a gorgeous week petals! Spring is here, put those boots away and show your gorgeous stems!

Xoxo

PS. We are all just walking each other home… I cannot wait for you to take my hand and walk me home.

And so do I.
